On behalf of the Jasmyn House Technology Team, I would like to thank Seeing for their previous and ongoing support. For more than a decade Seeing have played a vital role in enabling us to provide our service to the visually impaired of Torbay and South Devon. Not only have they provided equipment for our centre so that we can provide our training and advice service but they have also supported our clients by providing devices and software, enabling them to lead more independent lives. We have always found Seeing to be very understanding of the Technology Team’s and our clients’ particular needs.

With my sight deteriorating from diabetic retinopathy and following other medical conditions affecting my mobility, following discussions with my Torbay Sensory Team – Rehabilitation Officer – Visual Impairment (ROVI), they contacted Seeing on my behalf to assist me in applying for an up-to-date iPhone to replace my old mobile phone, which I found very difficult to use the buttons on. Thank you to Seeing as this has made it much easier for me to use, especially with the Siri option to operate this phone.

I would like to thank Seeing for their support and excellent service. When I required an iPhone to enable me to continue with my voluntary role as well as my daily living but could not afford one due to my financial situation, I applied to Seeing to see whether they could help. After my application was agreed Seeing sourced, purchased and delivered an iPhone to me. I am now able to use the accessibility features on my iPhone to make phone calls, email, create calendar appointments and access websites which all helps with my voluntary role. It has also made a difference to my independence and daily living due to specific apps that enable me to read my post, recognise banknotes, help with mobility and travel as well as online shopping. I can honestly say it has made a huge difference with helping me to deal with the difficulties that my sight  loss brings. Without Seeing’s support all these things would have been unobtainable for me.
